Moved my Blog!

Just a little reminder that last week I bought a domain name and switched my blog over to:

Creating at Home!

All of my imagine. dream. create. archives are over there as well.

Please update your bookmarks and re-subscribe to my feed over at my new blog. Also, if you've got me linked up on your sidebar, I would really appreciate it if you updated that link. Thank you so much!

Here's my button for the current series I am participating in:

31 Days of Holiday Baking at Creating at Home
Here's a little taste of what's going on over at Creating at Home! Please come on over and join in the fun.

Well, folks, I decided to join The Nester's 31 Day challenge! The idea is to pick a theme or topic and blog about it for 31 days straight, starting October 1, 2011.

If you're a blogger and you feel like inviting your readers over to see all my baking adventures, please grab my button (below). Thanks!

So, each day for the next 31 Days I will be posting some pretty delicious Thanksgiving/Fall and Christmas treats! There will be old favourites and some new recipes that I'll try just for you and will let you know what my taste testers (ie. family!) thinks of them.

First up we'll have Caramel Dip with Apples! You haven't really experienced fall until you've enjoyed some fresh, crunchy Granny Smith apples with a good healthy dose of decadent caramel.

Apple Wedges with Caramel Dip
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1/8 cup whipping cream
1 cup icing sugar

Melt the butter in a saucepan, then add the brown sugar and cream and bring the mixture to a boil. Remove from heat, let cool and stir in the icing sugar. Beat with wooden spoon until smooth.

Serve warm in a cute little container with fresh Granny Smith apple slices.

Mmm... cream
To cool your caramel much quicker, put some cold water in the sink and set your pot in the water, being careful not to get any water IN the pot! Once it's cool enough to put your hand on the bottom of the pot, you're good to go.

Dump in the icing sugar and beat the heck out of it!
It's best eaten, with or without apples. Or leave it to cool and you'll have a mouth watering maple-tasting fudge.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Please come again tomorrow for more Caramelly Appelly goodness! I've got a super adorable way to package up and give away mini Caramel Apple Trifles, as well as the recipe for such trifle, of course!
